Through our in-house agency, we offer 1/2 day, 3/4 day and full day trips, depending on the fishing in general and the type of fishing you choose. For offshore fishing we always recommend at least a 3/4 day trip.
You have a choice of boats from 24' to 42'. Rates start at $300 / $350 for a half day offshore trip from $400 / $450 on a mid-size boat, and from $550 / $850 on a larger boat.
All trips include beverages, snacks, tackle and bait. On full and 3/4 day trips a hot or cold lunch will be served. Not included in the rate is the mandatory fishing license ($15.00 per angler for a full year).
The boats we recommend are equipped with up-to-date electronics, high quality tackle and a coast guard approved safety kit. The crews have many years of experience in sport fishing. They all practice ''catch and release '' with billfish - unless you have a potential record catch.
Should you wish to take home some of your catch, we are happy to prepare your fish on our outside barbecue and serve it with all "the trimmings". Bring us your tuna and we will filet you a mouthwatering sashimi dish.
On the Atlantic - Caribbean side, you'll find Tarpon and Snook, barracuda, kingfish, spanish mackarel, jack, grouper, snapper and others. The canals and rivers of the northern Caribbean coast are lined with lush rain forest, which adds to the natural experience. Here you will find some of the best snook and tarpon fishing in the world.
Most of the sportfishing services in Costa Rica believe in the catch and release program for Marlin and Sailfish. By rod tipping to the fish with a bait or artificial lure, the fish is hooked in the forward part of the mouth area. The uninjured fish jumps more and fights longer. The fish runs hard, making handling the exhausted fish by the mate feasible so the hook can be taken out of the forward part of the mouth. Since the fish has not swollowed the bait, a healthy, but tired, fish is can be released.
